How Great the Debt

As a believer in Jesus Christ, you are cleared of all the guilt you could justly be charged with because of your sin; you are freed from the prison of eternal damnation. You are no longer a slave; you are set free from the bondage of the law (Why did we have the law in the first place? To show us we could not by our efforts earn salvation). Where once there was the fear of hell within you, you have no such fear now, for there is no punishment for the guiltless (Once saved, always saved). He who confesses his belief is not condemned and will not be punished. All the blessings you would have had if you had been able to keep the law are now yours because Christ has kept the law for you (Christ was and is the only perfect human in all of history). All the love and acceptance that perfect obedience could have obtained from God now belong to you because Christ was perfectly obedient on your behalf (For he was without sin, he was the flawless blood sacrifice). Christ has given you credit for all His merits (It is only through Jesus that we can come to know God) so that you might be exceeding rich (In blessings) through Him, who for your sake became exceeding poor (On Earth, a homeless man). Oh, how great the debt of love and gratitude we owe our Savior!
